With spring just around the corner, many of us are thinking about starting seeds for our gardens. While we take great care in selecting the varieties we want to grow, the type of soil we will start them in and where they will get the best light, few of us ever consider the quality of water they may need. Water quality needs for plants can be different than for human consumption!
Depending on the source of water used for watering plants, be they in a greenhouse, high tunnel, garden or your home, it may have minerals dissolved in it that may be a plant nutrient. Or they could interfere with the plant’s development and growth, or be toxic to the plant.
