New lawsuit filed over tainted drinking water

More than 150 Lawrence and Morgan County residents have filed a lawsuit over contamination of their drinking water with industrial chemicals named in a recent EPA health advisory.

Filed last week in Lawrence County Circuit Court, the suit names as defendants the West Morgan-East Lawrence Water Authority, 3M Co. and its subsidiary Dyneon LLC, and Daikin America Inc.

All of the plaintiffs — 34 in Morgan County and 120 in Lawrence County — allege they were harmed when they used water provided by the water authority, which failed to remove chemicals released into the river by the industrial defendants.
